On May 18, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, while participating in the 127th Ministerial Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe underway in Nicosia, has a meeting with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland http://bit.ly/2rjqHp6
They discussed the current state of affairs in the various bodies of the Council of Europe and the organisation’s priorities aimed at strengthening the unifying European agenda in 2017-2018.
The Minister stressed the need to make more active use of the tools afforded by conventions to monitor the human rights situation in all member states of the Council of Europe without politicising it.
